Trainee Arborists

Job Description

Do you love the great outdoors and want to turn your passion for nature into a fulfilling career?

We are currently seeking trainee arborists to join our team. As a trainee arborist, you will be able to learn and develop the skills needed to become a successful arborist. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about the outdoors, have a keen interest in trees, and are looking to start a career in arboriculture.

Responsibilities:

- Assist the team in the maintenance of trees and shrubs.
- Learn how to climb trees using rope and harnesses.
- Operate equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and stump grinders.
- Gain knowledge in tree identification, disease diagnosis, and pest control.
- Work safely and efficiently on the job site.
- Attend training sessions to develop your knowledge and skills.

Ideal requirements:

- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Valid class 1 driver’s license.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Physical ability to climb trees and lift heavy objects.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team.
- Passion for trees and the environment.

Experience in arboriculture or related field is a plus but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate eager to learn and grow with our company.

Excavator Operator

Job Description

We are in search of an experienced Excavator Operator to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience in operating excavators in a foresty or arboricultural setting, possess strong communication skills, and be able to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

- Operate excavators (5T - 25T) safely and efficiently using various attachments.
- Follow all safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain equipment and perform daily checks to ensure proper function.
- Communicate effectively with Project Manager and team members to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Ideal requirements, but not all essential:

- Minimum of 2 years experience operating excavators in a forestry or arboricultural setting.
- Valid class 2 and WTR license.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and guidelines.

Arborist Training Crew Leader

We seek a highly motivated and experienced arborist who wants to transition into a Training Crew Leader to join our team.

As the Training Crew Leader, you will be on the tools; however, oversee and coordinate the training and development of new crew members out in the field on your crew, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills to deliver outstanding customer service and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:

- Deliver training for new crew members, covering all aspects of the job, including safety protocols, customer service, and technical skills.
- Work with the Training Manager to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making necessary adjustments to ensure they meet the crew’s needs and organisational goals.
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to crew members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
- Collaborate with the Training Manager to identify training needs and develop training plans to address them.
- Lead by example and foster a positive and supportive team culture that encourages learning and growth.
- Maintain accurate records of training activities and progress, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Ideal requirements, but not all essential:

- Relevant arboricultural qualification.
- Valid class 2 license.
- 2+ years of experience in a crew leader or training role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong focus on Health and Safety and job management.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
